Is Scott MacIntyre the Next Stevie Wonder?

Over the years there have been many great blind musicians. Ray Charles was probably the first, followed by Stevie Wonder, the most awarded musician of all time, and on the gospel side we have the Blind Boys of Alabama. Since Stevie though, there hasn't really been anyone in the blind community to receive as much attention. Well Stevie, as much as I adore you, it might be time to step aside. There is a new act in town and his name is Scott MacIntyre

American Idol has been running for almost a decade, and not once has a blind person made it to the top 12. I am not sure if that's because blind people aren't auditioning, or if the blind community just hasn't been represented by someone as good as Scott, but I am happy that we finally have a representative

Tomorrow Scott will be performing for the first time as a member of the top 12. I hope that everyone will get a chance to watch, and if you find him worthy to vote for Scott. Here is a sample to get an idea of his talent so far on American Idol, and here is a link to his myspace page where you can here his singing and piano playing.

Scott is not the only great blind musician out there though. If you want to here great music from the blind community, check out the ACB CAFE.
